Frequently Asked Parent Questions

What services do you offer for newborns?

We provide comprehensive newborn care including well-baby check-ups, vaccinations, feeding guidance, and development monitoring. Our pediatricians are experienced in caring for the youngest patients and helping new parents through the early stages.

Do you offer same-day sick appointments?

Yes, we reserve slots each day for same-day sick visits. Please call our office early in the day to schedule a same-day appointment for your child if they are ill.

What ages do you treat?

We care for children from birth through adolescence. Our pediatricians are trained to address the unique health needs of each developmental stage and provide age-appropriate care.

What should I bring to my child's first appointment?

Please bring your child's insurance card, any previous medical records, immunization history, a list of current medications, and a photo ID. If your child is a newborn, bring hospital discharge papers and birth records as well.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans. Please call our office at (615) 451-8260 to verify your specific plan is accepted.

What vaccinations do you provide?

We provide all CDC-recommended childhood vaccinations including MMR, DTaP, polio, hepatitis, HPV, flu shots, and COVID-19 vaccines. We follow the recommended immunization schedule to keep your child protected and healthy.

How do I know if my child needs to be seen for a fever?

Call us immediately if your child is under 3 months with any fever over 100.4°F. For older children, seek care if the fever persists beyond 3 days, exceeds 104°F, or is accompanied by severe symptoms like difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting, rash, or extreme lethargy.

Do you offer telehealth or virtual visits?

Yes, we offer telehealth appointments for non-emergency concerns such as follow-up visits, minor illnesses, behavioral questions, medication management, and general parenting advice. Call our office to schedule a convenient virtual visit.

What are your hours of operation?

We're open Monday through Friday with extended evening hours on select days to accommodate working parents. Weekend and after-hours care is available through our on-call service. Please check our Contact section for current hours.

How often should my child have well-child check-ups?

Well-child visits are recommended frequently in the first 2 years: at 3-5 days, 1 month, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months. After age 2, annual check-ups are recommended to monitor growth, development, and ensure vaccinations stay current.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows us to offer the time slot to another family in need. Repeated no-shows may affect your ability to schedule future appointments.

How can I request a prescription refill?

Prescription refills can be requested through your pharmacy, our patient portal, or by calling the office. Please allow 24-48 hours for refill requests to be processed.

Can I choose which pediatrician my child sees?

Absolutely. Most families pick a primary provider and stay with them for well visits, though any of our doctors can see your child for sick visits when their primary isn't available.

Do you have an after-hours nurse line?

Yes — our on-call service is available evenings and weekends. Call our main number and you'll be connected to an on-call provider for urgent questions that can't wait until the office reopens.

How do I access my child's medical records?

You can request your child's medical records through our patient portal or by submitting a written request to our office. We typically process record requests within 5-10 business days.
